Pharmact (https://pharmact.eu) arbeitet mit der deutschen Hilfsorganisation Spine Alliance e.V. zusammen um Corona Tests auch in armen Ländern verfügbar zu machen.
Der gemeinnützige Verein Spine Alliance e.V. wurde im Jahr 2008 in Mannheim von Entscheidern aus der MedTec-Industrie, einer Gruppe aus bekannten Wirbelsäulenchirurgen und orthopädischen Ärzten aus Deutschland, Österreich, der Schweiz und Großbritannien gegründet sowie einiger Künstler.
Als unabhängige humanitäre Hilfsorganisation arbeitet Spine Alliance e.V.eng mit den Gesundheitsministerien der afrikanischen Länder Sierra Leone, Sambia, Gambia, Senegal und der Elfenbeinküste zusammen. Um dringende Hilfe zu leisten, wo Gesundheitsstrukturen nur unzureichend oder gar nicht vorhanden sind, arbeiten wir vor Ort mit lokalen Krankenhäusern und Organisationen zusammen.
Unsere Mission ist es, Menschen in Not zu medizinischer Versorgung zu verhelfen und sie mit medizinischen orthopädischen Hilfsmitteln in Form von Implantaten, Operationsmaterialien, aber auch Gehhilfen und Prothesen zu versorgen. Weiterhin haben wir uns zur Aufgabe gemacht, berufliche Weiterbildung für Ärzte und medizinisches Personal sowie soziale Projekte im jeweiligen Land zu fördern.
Mittlerweile hat sich die Arbeit unseres Vereins auch auf die Bereiche Sozialarbeit und Behindertenhilfe ausgedehnt. Hier liegt uns besonders die Arbeit mit behinderten Menschen am Herzen, die wir in diversen lokalen Projekten wie zum Beispiel in Sierra Leone “Afrikas vergessene Fussballer” und „Spielplatz statt Müllhalde und Strasse“ im Senegal begleiten.

Spine Alliance e.V. was founded in 2008 as a small focused independent, humanitarian medical – non-profit association (registered in Germany) by an international group of well known spine and orthopedic surgeons, healthcare professionals, leaders in the medical device industry and artists.
Spine Alliance e.V. cooperates closely with authorities, such as the ministry of health, in countries where health structures are insufficient or even non-existent, to provide much needed assistance. Part of the Spine Alliance e.V. Mission is to provide african hospitals and health care centers in need access to medical devices, professional education and intraoperative surgeon training to support the humanitarian work in the dedicated african region. With our local physicians and partners in the respective hospitals we can ensure that our support arrives the patient. The surgeon team of Spine Alliance is dedicating their services free of charge and invest their private time to support the mission by attending orthopedic procedures, giving lectures and professional education for other surgeons in the dedicated african region. We will continue to focus on our projects in Zambia, Sierra Leone, Ivory coast, Senegal and Gambia also in the upcoming years.
Since orthopedic challenges and health issues are not stopping at borders, we were able to continuously extend our supporting partners. Together with hospitals in Europe we support exchange programs and fellowships where we invite african surgeons to come to Europe and get extensive physician training on modern minimal invasive spine and orthopedic procedures combined with access to specialized clinics across Europe.
In the meantime we also extended our focus towards social projects and support for disabled. Especially projects like in Sierra Leone „Africas forgotten soccer players“ or „Playground instead of garbage dumps and street“ in Senegal.

Jeder Krieg ist grausam, doch der Bürgerkrieg um die „Blood Diamonds“ von Sierra Leone, der 1991 begann und zehn Jahre dauerte, setzte neue Maßstäbe des Irrsinns: Kindersoldaten wurden mit Drogen aufgeputscht und zu Mutproben gezwungen, in denen sie Gleichaltrigen Arme oder Beine abhacken sollten. Heute sind die kriegsversehrten, einbeinigen oder einarmigen Fussballer aus Sierra Leone junge Erwachsene, obdachlos und ohne Zukunftsperspektive. Spine Alliance e.V. hilft den Fussballern mit lokalen Projekten vor Ort. Siehe Video in der Gallerie.
Food:
Die amputierten Fussballer von Freetown leben in der Regel ohne festen Wohnsitz und regelmäßiges Einkommen, da sie aufgrund ihrer Behinderung keinen Job bekommen im drittärmsten Land der Welt (WHO 2010) und zum Teil ihre kompletten Familien ausgelöscht wurden. Somit sind sie mittellos und auf Almosen angewiesen. Spine Alliance e.V. strebt an, eine eine mobile Küche , mit einfachen Mahlzeiten anzubieten und den Fussballern im Rahmen ihres Trainings die Möglichkeit zu geben einmal am Tag eine warme Mahlzeit einzunehmen und sie mit Getränken zu versorgen.
Social:
Das Ziel des „Social Fotballcamps“ ist es in einem interdisziplinären Projekt mit dem Ministry for Country Planning und dem Ministry of Health, eine Plattform zu schaffen, die es den Fussballern ermöglicht, sowohl ihre Trainingsmöglichkeiten zu verbessern, in Form von Spielgerät, Konditionsgeräten, ebene Flächen auf dem Trainingsplatz u.a.m., sowie durch den Bau eines einfachen Hauses, mit Sozialräumen, Besprechungsräumen und Wohnmöglichkeiten, mit einfachen Zimmern, den obdachlosen Fussballern ein Zuhause zu verschaffen.
Health for football:
Die amputierten Fussballer von Freetown sind medizinisch unterversorgt. Ihre Verstümmelungen der Arme oder Beine wurden nach den brutalen Eingriffen in der Regel nicht ausreichend medizinisch versorgt. Die meisten Fussballer haben keine Prothesen, da die orthopädische Versorgung im Land nicht vorhanden ist, da Fachkräfte, wie Orthopäden, Orthopädietechniker etc. fehlen. Das Ziel beim Projekt „Health for Football“ , ist eine Versorgung der Amputierten zu gewährleisten durch Anpassung von Hilfsmitteln und die Betreuung der Fussballer durch geschultes Personal.
Die Bedarfsplanung und Finanzierung der Projekte basiert auf Spenden und Zuwendungen von Menschen und Unternehmen, die sich der sozialen Sache verpflichtet fühlen.Für eine langfristigen Aufbau der Projekte für Afrikas vergessene Fussballer ist ein Zeitraum von 3 Jahren geplant, um die Projekte seriös und nachhaltig durchführen zu können.
Der Club Aldiana Costa del Sol in Spanien hilft uns dieses Projekt aktiv zu promoten. Interessanterweise gibt es hierzu auch einen engen Bezug mit Aldiana zu Senegal. Der Senegal, ist der eigentliche Geburtsort der Aldiana Geschichte und somit wurde das Projekt „Kinderspielplatz statt Müllhalde und Straße“ im letzten Jahr ins Leben gerufen. In dem Fischerdorf Nianing nahe der Stadt Mbour in Senegal spielen die Kinder auf Müllhalden und Straßen und begeben sich tagtäglich in Lebensgefahr . In enger Zusammenarbeit mit den Vereinen Spine Alliance e.V. und Bilbassi Senegal Krankenhaus e. V. wurde das Projekt gestartet um diesen Kindern einen gefahrfreien Spielplatz zu ermöglichen. Spielplätze sind für uns eine Selbstverständlichkeit und wir glauben das dies auch in anderen Ländern so sein sollte. In der Stadt Thies bei Mbour befindet sich unser weiteres soziales Projekt. Das Heim AHNMS – Association nationale des handicapes moteur du Senegal – . Ein grosses Problem in dem stabilen Land Senegal und Hauptgrund für Armut ist die fehlende Option für Bildung und Weiterbildung. 44,3 Prozent der Bevölkerung besteht aus Analphabeten. Etwa 31,5 % der Männer und 56,2 % der Frauen konnten 2015 nicht oder nicht richtig lesen und schreiben. Der im Januar 2001 eingeführten Verfassung garantieren Zugang zur Bildung für alle Kinder. Die Schule ist bis zum Alter von 16 Jahren verpflichtend und kostenlos.Seit 2003 ist das Schulsystem reformiert. Das senegalesische Arbeitsministerium hat geäußert, dass das öffentliche Schulsystem nicht in der Lage sei, die vielen Kinder zu bewältigen, die jedes Jahr aufgenommen werden müssen. Im Jahr 2010 wurden 5,6 % des BIPs für Bildung ausgegeben. Bei diesen Zahlen kann man sich bereits sehr gut vorstellen wie es um Chancen, Bildung und Ausbildung steht für behinderte Menschen in Senegal. Durch das Engagement einer deutschen Stiftung wurde hier bereits ein Heim für behinderte Kinder und Jugendliche mit Kindergarten, Schule und Berufsbildungszentrum aufgebaut. Ein wahrlich allumfassendes Konzept. Dort werden auch Kinder von behinderten Eltern aufgenommen die sonst nur geringe Chancen auf Bildung und Chancen für eine Zukunft haben. Neben der eigentlichen Schule werden dort auch klassische Berufsausbildungen angeboten. Dort werden Berufe wie Schuhmacher, Friseur, Schneider, Orthopädiemechaniker, Produktion und Vertrieb landwirtschaftlicher Produkte in einer 3 Jahre andauernden Ausbildung mit Abschluss gelehrt. In Senegal ist Ausbildung der Start in ein halbwegs normales Leben. Hier brauchen wir neben finanzieller Hilfe auch Rollstühle und Krücken die wir lokal aus privat Haushalten, Kliniken oder Fachhandel erhalten. Ein relativ neues Krankenhaus ca. 15 km weg von Dakar in einem Einzugsgebiet von 500.000 Einwohnern. Die Klinik ist von der Basis gut ausgestattet und verfügt über ein solides Management. Aufgrund des grossen Einzugsgebietes und der überdurchschnittlichen Auslastung in einem 24 Stunden Betrieb fehlt es an Ersatz der mittlerweile schadhaften Roentgengeräte im OP um einfachste klassische Wirbelsäulen Operationen durchzuführen. Hier kommt unser Chirurgen Team zum Einsatz das vor Ort das medizinische Personal ausbildet , operiert und neueste Operationstechniken schult. Unser Ziel ist hier auch neben finanzieller Unterstützung auch langfristig Unterstützung mit Sachmitteln wie Medizinprodukte aller Art , Instrumente und Implantate von der Medizintechnik Industrie zu erhalten.

Every war is cruel, but the Sierra Leone „Blood Diamonds“ civil war, which began in 1991 and lasted ten years, set new standards of insanity: children soldiers were drugged and forced to test their talents by chopping off their peers arms or legs. Today, the war-disabled, one-legged or one-armed Sierra Leone footballers are young adults, homeless and with no future prospects. Spine Alliance e.V. helps local footballers with local projects. Food: Freetown’s amputated footballers usually live without permanent residence and regular incomes, as they are unable to get a job in the third-poorest country in the world (WHO 2010) due to their disability, and some of their entire families have been wiped out. They are dependent on alms. Spine Alliance e.V. aims to provide a mobile kitchen with simple meals and give footballers the opportunity to have a hot meal once a day and provide them with drinks as part of their training.
Social: The goal of the „Social Football Camp“ is to create a platform in an interdisciplinary project with the Ministry for Country Planning and the Ministry of Health that will allow footballers to improve their training opportunities with of training equipment, fitness equipment, level Areas on the training ground and so on, as well as the construction of a simple house, with social rooms, meeting rooms and housing options, to provide the homeless footballers a home.
Health for football:
Freetown’s amputated footballers are medically underserved. Their mutilations of the arms or legs were generally not adequately treated after the brutal surgery. Most footballers do not have any prostheses because orthopedic care is not available in the country because there is a lack of specialists such as orthopedic surgeons, orthopedic technicians etc. The goal of the project „Health for Football“ is to ensure the amputee’s care by adapting aids and supervising the footballers by trained personnel.
The needs planning and financing of the projects is based on donations and donations from people and companies who are committed to the social cause. For a long-term development of projects for Africa’s forgotten footballers, a period of 3 years is planned to carry out the projects seriously and sustainably can.
The Club Aldiana Costa del Sol in Spain helps us to actively promote this project. Interestingly, there is also a close relationship with Aldiana to Senegal. Senegal is the actual birthplace of the Aldiana history and the project „Children’s playground instead of garbage dump and road“ was launched last year. In the fishing village of Nianing, near the town of Mbour in Senegal, the children play on rubbish dumps and roads and are in mortal danger on a daily basis. In close cooperation with the associations Spine Alliance e.V. and Bilbassi Senegal Hospital e. V. the project was started to give these children a safe playground. Playgrounds are a matter of course for us and we believe that this should also be the case in other countries. In the town of Thies near Mbour is our next social project. The home AHNMS – Association national des handicapes moteur du Senegal -. Through the involvement of a German foundation, a home for disabled children and adolescents with kindergarten, school and vocational training center has already been set up here. A truly all-encompassing concept. There children of disabled parents are also admitted, who otherwise have little chance of education and opportunities for a future. In addition to the actual school, classical vocational training is also offered there. There are professions such as shoemaker, hairdresser, tailor, orthopedic mechanic, production and distribution of agricultural products in a 3-year training with degree taught. In Senegal, education is the start in a reasonably normal life. Here we need not only financial help but also wheelchairs and crutches which we receive locally from private households, clinics or specialized trade. A relatively new hospital about 15 km away from Dakar in a catchment area of 500,000 inhabitants. The clinic is well-equipped from the base and has sound management. Due to the large catchment area and the above-average utilization in a 24-hour operation, replacement of the meanwhile defective Roentgen devices in the OR is lacking to perform the simplest classical spine operations. This is where our surgeon team comes in to train local medical staff, operate and train the latest surgical techniques. In addition to financial support, our goal here is also to provide long-term support with material resources such as medical devices of all kinds, instruments and implants from the medical technology industry.
